We are open and providing osteopathic treatment during this current lockdown. As there are no current restrictions with regards to medical treatment, attending an osteopath, where appropriate, may help reduce the burden on the NHS. At Amersham Osteopathic Clinic, we use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), have triaging procedures in place, and continue to follow our standards to minimise any risk of infection.
We have been open in Chiltern Road since 1995, serving the community for over 25 years. We are open 5 days a week including Saturday mornings.
The clinic is run by Karen Carroll, Registered Osteopath and Naturopath.
Karen is Consultant and lecturer at the Osteopathic Centre for Children, London and teaches post-graduate osteopaths in the UK and Europe. She is a Faculty member and Fellow of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy and regularly teaches in Germany, Italy, Austria, Belgium and has also been invited to Brazil to teach.
Amersham Osteopathic Clinic are one of only two Osteopathic Clinics in the area who specialise in using Photobiomodulation / Laser Therapy for sports injuries, acute back and neck pain, TMJ dysfunction, fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndromes.
Photobiomodulation / Low Level Laser Therapy is used by the top football, rugby, elite sporting teams as well as in hospitals and clinics worldwide. Karen has been using Laser Therapy for 30 years and has lectured internationally on the subject.
Karen treats structural problems, sports injuries, arthritis related pain as well as treating babies and children, pregnant and post partum mums. Karen has done extensive post graduate training in treating babies, children, teenagers and pregnant / post partum women as well as treating many people with musculoskeletal injuries, acute and chronic pain.
REFERRAL: you do not need a GP referral to come to an osteopath. Most patients are self referring or come on the recommendation of family, colleagues, GP or Health Visitor.
URGENT APPOINTMENTS: We aim to fit all new urgent patients in within 48 hours where possible, particularly babies or children or those in acute discomfort. We operate a cancellation list if an appointment becomes free sooner.
HEALTH INSURANCE COVER: Most private health insurance companies pay for osteopathic treatment on GP referral. Please check your policy cover / if you need specific referral prior to treatment. We have opted out of the BUPA osteopathy network. Some health insurance policies pay for osteopathic treatment of children
